What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to create sophisticated and personalized automated workflows allows me to streamline my marketing processes and engage with my audience more effectively. Whether it's automating email sequences, segmenting contacts based on their behavior, or triggering actions based on specific events, ActiveCampaign empowers me to deliver targeted and timely messages to my subscribers without manual intervention. This not only saves me time but also helps me nurture leads and drive conversions more efficiently.

What do you dislike most about this product?

One aspect of ActiveCampaign that I find challenging is its pricing structure, particularly for users with larger contact lists or more advanced automation needs. While ActiveCampaign offers a range of pricing plans to accommodate different business sizes and budgets, the costs can add up quickly as the subscriber count increases or additional features are required. This can be prohibitive for small businesses or startups operating on tighter budgets, especially if they need access to more advanced automation features or higher contact limits.

Cost was a factor, it's less expensive than HubSpot.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Email automations for new contacts allows them to get more information from us with no manual intervention.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Active Campaign has an extremely fragile design in their automations which caused my company to lose $10,000's in potential revenue. I created an online form, which website visiters can fill out to get more information (or a trial) from our company. This is a major source of high quality customer leads. By simply making a slight change of wording to a form option , the entire automation broke, which we did not realize for 6+ months. There was no warning and nothing in the user guide indicating a problem. Companies were requesting information from us and we were never notified because of the broken automation.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I can no longer recommend AC because of the fragile design. If you are a small business relying on email automations, you are taking a risk with Active Campaign. The lost revenue due to AC would have easily paid for a competitor like Hub Spot. The pipeline feature is not very user friendly, and if you expect people to be in the system regularly, the slowness will frustrate user adoption. Be careful.

My favorite aspect of this product is the email automation feature, which allows you to create workflows and sequences that trigger based on various conditions and actions.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The thing I dislike most about this product is the contact volume pricing, which can be very expensive if you have a large number of contacts. For example, if you have 100,000 contacts on the Lite plan, you will pay $505 / £500 / AUD$750 per month1. This can be a deterrent for some businesses that want to scale their email marketing without breaking the bank.
