What differentiates X1 Search from other similar products?

When compared to Windows Search, there is really no other comparison. X1 searches more data sources, more quickly, and finds what you are looking for. X1 pays for itself via increased employee productivity.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The interface is intuitive after a few uses, though any new user should go through X1's quick start videos and online help resources. I think X1 has done a good job simplifying the interface as much as possible. This is not just a "one liner" search that a user would do in Window's File Explorer. To get the most relevant search results as quickly as possible, a user needs to be able to "guide" X1 in the display of results. Meaning it would be helpful if the user lets X1 know that the information they seek is contained in an Outlook email, MS Office file, etc.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Speaking as someone who uses the product in both the business environment and the home environment, I was fortunate enough to buy the software for personal use at home before X1 changed their pricing model. I bought a perpetual license, though now X1 has a subscription model only. I would like to see X1 come up with a better way to market to the general public and be able to price it accordingly. Or perhaps sell a version that most home users need (such as one that has Sharepoint features stripped out). Home users don't need to search all of the data sources that X1 provides. I liked the product so much that I bought it for home use.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I am scatterbrained. You probably have employees who are digital packrats and their inboxes and HDDs are disorganized disaster areas. Sometimes these are your best employees and you want to empower them and do what you can to enhance their productivity. X1 has done this for me. If I can't find something, I get frustrated and that impacts my mood and productivity too. X1 helps here too. Like I said, I love X1 so much that I spent my own money on it for personal use. It is expensive for home use. Sometimes I wish MS would buy them and integrate X1 into W10. Well worth the price in both business and home environments. I am very happy with X1!
