What differentiates WordPress.com from other similar products?

It's a cut above mainly because of its customization options. This website builder /host is not your average drag and drop website. I've moved from Wix to Squarespace now to Wordpress all because of recommendations from my developers over the years.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

You can use the Divi Builder to make it a bit more intuitive or code your own site! This is my favorite thing. I (who does not code) can use the DB to design my own pages or I can use my website builder to make more intricate pages.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I dislike the dashboard that lists out the pages on your website. It's very hard to read and I don't fully understand it. We've also had problems using the pop up feature. It's glitched out so many times so we ended up just taking it down.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would say 100% hire a developer to work with you on creating the best site through them. They have a breadth of features that can help you stand out as a business. Using Wordpress has been a great experience and my site has NEVER crashed.

What differentiates WordPress.com from other similar products?

The fact that it is free to use. Also because it is open source, there are so many helpful plugins that are quite often free to download. These help massively with content management and creation.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love that Wordpress is self hosted. As you don’t have to host on WordPress, you have the freedom to build your site through WordPress, but then host it anywhere. You own and control your data, making server migration easy.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I really dislike the fact that live customer support is only available if you choose to host on WordPress.com. Obviously it is fairly expensive to use Wordpress for your hosting; and the potential to choose your own hosting is a feature I really like.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

WordPress is open-source software, which makes it a truly free option. This is ideal for all size business. Since WordPress is so prevalent in the web-building world, most of the integrations and plugins are also free to download.

What differentiates WordPress.com from other similar products?

The beautiful part about WordPress is that it adapts to your needs. It can be as easy and simple as you want, or as complex and sophisticated as you need it to be. Being completely in charge and in full ownership, you can make things simple, control the cost, and efficiently run your website.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

WordPress is free and gives you complete control of your website. You own and control all your website files and data. You are not tied to a web hosting company and can move your website anywhere you want.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Whilst it is not essential to know coding, some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS will make things a lot easier. Most beginners acquire these basic skills as they use WordPress.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

WordPress is right for you if you want to make a professional business website without spending a lot of money. I would recommend spending time following simple tutorials to learn the basics. It will be worth it.
