What differentiates Microsoft Entra ID from other similar products?
Azure AD is tightly integrated with Microsoft’s cloud services, including Office 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365. This integration provides a seamless experience for users, making it easy for organizations to manage user access to these services from a single location. Azure AD also includes several security features such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access policies, and identity protection. Additionally, Azure AD supports integration with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, providing an additional layer of security for managing privileged accounts and access.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favourite aspect of Azure Active Directory is its support for multi-factor authentication. This helps to protect against unauthorized access to sensitive resources, as users are required to provide multiple forms of identification before they can access them. Additionally, Azure Active Directory includes tools for managing user permissions, including role-based access control and conditional access policies.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Azure AD can be complex and difficult to configure, particularly for organizations with complex identity and access management requirements. The platform offers a wide range of features, which can sometimes make it difficult to navigate and configure effectively. Outside of Microsoft cloud services, third-party integration is also limited.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Before deciding on Azure AD, it's important to evaluate your IAM needs and determine if Azure AD is the right solution for your organization. Consider your organization's size, complexity, and specific requirements, and ensure that Azure AD can meet those needs. Azure AD is also tightly integrated with Microsoft's cloud services, including Office 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365. If your organization already uses these services, Azure AD can provide a seamless experience for managing user access and permissions. If your organization uses non-Microsoft services, another IAM product may be considered.
Pros
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing

What differentiates Microsoft Entra ID from other similar products?
They have the ground to work up from, they own the account and windows administration game. There are other softwares to get but you ither have to use this one with yours if they support it or user intune and waist your life away waiting for it to update. Moral of the story, you have to use azure to make windows work how you think it should. Your land locked or you build your own boat.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It's the only software you can use. If you want to use a diffrent MDM your stuck with this for your account management and there's nothing you can do but make a windows server and host your own accounts or just deal with it.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Don't unless you have to use it. Your going to struggle alot setting it up, it's a pain frankly. If you can help it stay away or just use the account login features to plug in with your systems but don't use intune it's a steaming pile of broken hopes and dreams.
