Everything I need in one software GIS program

What differentiates Maptitude GIS from other similar products?

The biggest plus has always been the inclusion of census data with the software. The fact that one can easily export the database file makes this a wonderful partner with statistical analytical packages such as SPSS and AMOS. It is great to have a GIS product with so many basic files/capabilities built into the software. I also love the seamless interchange with MS Office applications.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

That census data has always been included with the software.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The commands I need to perform analysis could be a bit less clunky at times (although Maptitude continually works on it),

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are into natural resource management, then this is not the software for you. However, if you are in the business, public health, criminal justice, education or social science sector, then this is the best GIS software you can get.

What differentiates Maptitude GIS from other similar products?

Very high quality, great technical support, great value for the buck - no one can touch this product for cost/benefit

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I don't know where to start. I like the quality of the maps (good aesthetics although maybe the road lines could be a little more appealing), its very easy to learn and use. We've developed an application for banks and regulatory compliance that's the most sophisticated in the country. When we show it to bankers the response always is "Wow! How do you do that?" I really like the online maps (although I would like to see more features added to match the desktop application). Also would like to see an improvement in speed because our unique application requires a lot of computation.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't know if the term "dislike" would apply. I certainly would like to see an improvement in speed (but we do have a unique application that requires lots of computations - normal maps are not a problem). The online mapping is great, but again I would like to see some improvements that we have communicated to Caliper.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Buy it! You can't find a better GIS platform. It's really an unbeatable value.
