What differentiates Looker from other similar products?

LookML is pretty unique to Looker and maybe only a few other similar products. It allows for a business layer to exist within the product so that metrics can be defined in the platform. In addition, being linked to Google allows for a powerful integration between Google Sheets and Looker.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like how the product has it's own semantic layer. Therefore, a more appropriate team is able to define metrics as opposed to a data engineer.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It is very difficult to navigate for a new user.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would take all the tutorials made available as well as ask a CSM to help you through the set up process and creating your first dashboard.

What differentiates Looker from other similar products?

It's integration with Goole changed the game as it now has touches of Google Data Studio Features and naturally links to other first party Google products. This is really efficient and effective for organisations using the whole Google stack

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It has tons of first party data connectors that is always increasing. It also has built it templates that makes it easy to build a complex dashboard as the fundamentals are already mapped out and you just need to add the element of customization

What do you dislike most about this product?

Switching between windows in the user interface can be daunting for first time users but as you grow on it you understand that for a complicated product with so many options it actually is a great user interface. It balances the volume of features as much as it can

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Absolutely go for it it will improve productivity across the BI, data and analytics part of your organisation. These also affect other departments as dashboard built in Looker are essential for every part of the orgnaisation as data is basically what everything is based on and decisions are made from.

What differentiates Looker from other similar products?

It is a free solution and is live all the time. you do not have to refresh extracts or do something like that. it just looks at the database.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

That it is free.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It can not do many things. for example, you can not filter parameters properly. if you want to write something like parameter1, not equal to parameter2 it can not do this. you have to write manually that parameter 1 is not equal to some number or text. also, it can not store many reports in one folder at once.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

it is free and very, very easy to use. also it has many connectors for everything and has great syncing solutions for google services.
