What differentiates Constant Contact from other similar products?

Initially, it was easy to create email campaigns, although editing photos and getting things to look attractive proved tricky. The ability to copy the HTML code of the campaigns for use in other programs was very attractive, but that feature disappeared.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I tried for months to cancel the subscription. They require a phone call to cancel, but I was kept on hold every time and would give up after nearly an hour of waiting each time. Email contact information is buried deep in a series of FAQs, and the "call back" feature in chat does not appear when you select "cancel service" or "billing" as an inquiry option. I felt as though they were deliberately trying to make it very difficult to cancel the service. I ended up putting a block on my credit card.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For price, features, and poor customer support, I would not recommend this product at all.

What differentiates Constant Contact from other similar products?

Constant Contact is often perceived as more expensive than some of its competitors, especially for small businesses or individuals just starting out. Their pricing can escalate quickly with the increase in the number of contacts. It's one of the main reasons we evaluated alternatives, especially as a growing business that was trying to implement marketing strategy where it had not existed prior. Also, the template options and customization capabilities of Constant Contact were not as robust or modern as those offered by some competitors. This was frustrating, as our CEO had a specific vision for what he wanted to see.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I did appreciate the user-friendly interface. It was fairly intuitive and easy it is to navigate, making it simple for beginners to create and manage email marketing campaigns. The drag-and-drop email editor helped our team of 2 quickly design professional-looking emails without needing advanced technical skills. It also saved us a lot of time when we had so many other things to manage.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Again, the pricing structure. It tends to increase significantly as the email list grows, which can become a substantial expense for businesses with a large number of contacts. This aspect was particularly challenging for our limited budget. We were able to do much more with Mailchimp, not just in building a database but in customizing our emails, as well.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Assess your budget carefully and try to forecast how big your database will be. You'll be surprised at the price increase if you need to go over allotment. This goes hand in hand with scalability. How will you use this platform as your business grows or how your marketing strategy evolves? Does it integrate appropriately with your CRM? We had issues with this. On the flip side, if you’re new to email marketing or prefer a more straightforward, user-friendly interface, Constant Contact's intuitive design and ease of use could be a significant advantage.
