What differentiates Blue Yonder Luminate Planning from other similar products?

The biggest separator is the integration with other Blue Yonder products, which allows different parts of the business (demand planning, replenishment, product management, vendor management) to make changes and have them reflected everywhere. This really helped manage complex demand structures involving vendors that provide both branded and private label products

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to copy and paste multiple product IDs and have it auto populate. That was something I did hundreds of times a day and was something most people didn’t even notice or appreciate, but was foundational in making the software easy to use

What do you dislike most about this product?

The lack of communication from the BY support teams, especially regarding data quality and integrity. If data issues were found, they would just scrub the offending data, with no explanation as to why it was not good, or what impacts this data (or the removal of) would have down the line

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Once you commit, you have to be willing to grow through about half a decade of growing pains.

What differentiates Blue Yonder Luminate Planning from other similar products?

User Friendly. Very good for the retail sector especially hypermarkets and supermarkets and eCommerce business. Easy to understand and implement as well. Best for time management. Good for inventory and stock taking. Having JDA helped forecast a large number of SKUs within each category. The problem I'm solving is how to best visually display products in stores. The benefits are being able to set up multiple different square foot stores in one day without being in front of each store physically.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like the fact that JDA projects decent forecasts based on historical data. Also, I like the ability to adjust any anomalies in historical data so that the ongoing forecast remains unaffected.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Pretty Hard to make it agile across the team. Need training! Sometimes it's not very user-friendly. If someone steps into a role that uses JDA, it takes a lot of training before they're able to use JDA on their own. The version that I used did not allow mass updates of promo periods so all the dates had to be manually entered one by one for each SKU which took a significant amount of time.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do your research! Understand what seems best for you take Demos and look for skilled manpower.
