What differentiates Basecamp from other similar products?

Basecamp's real time communication provisions are its major selling point . While most other project management tools limit communication to just comments on tasks , Basecamp has provisions for message boards, pings, and group chats. Hence, real time project communication is centralized , trackable and organized.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Basecamp has the best notification management of any project management platform that I have used. Basecamp lets me customize how I want to be notified for tasks , messages etc I can pause project notifications at set times and restrict my notifications to only come-in at set times. There is even an option to enable a summary of missed activities while I was away. This provision removes the need for me to manually browse through Calendars and to-do lists , before I can know what went on while I was away.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Default project tracking with Basecamp can only be done using Hill charts and Calendar views, which is miles behind Kanban boards in terms of efficiency because there are no provisions to assign priority levels to tasks. Our workaround has been to make use of third party extensions to introduce advanced project tracking and viewing options into Basecamp.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Basecamp is perhaps the most ideal project management platform for teams with a lot of remote members or staffs.

I like Basecamp because it provides a centralized platform where my team can share tasks.

Basecamp helps us keep track of customers projects and requests and serve them based on which request came first. It helps us save time, serve clients better, and collaborate effectively from the same platform. I also like the notifications that keep me informed about what is happening. We rarely hold meetings or keep calling each other for work-related tasks. Everything is well organized on the platform. Our clients also trust us because they know we are organized and follow the right procedure. I can tell what needs to be done at a glance when I access the platform.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The mobile app needs attention. It does not match what is available when you access Basecamp with your PC. I also dislike the fact that you cannot connect two related tasks and only allow participants to handle one task after completing the other. So you might find a task was skipped even if it appears top on the platform.
