What differentiates Actian DataConnect from other similar products?

What stands out to me with Actian DataConnect is its broad connectivity to various systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. Many integration platforms struggle to connect across hybrid environments, but this tool makes it seamless.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really appreciate the scalability of Actian DataConnect. As our business grows, the platform grows with it. It handles larger volumes of data and more complex workflows without hiccups. The ease of use is another plus.

What do you dislike most about this product?

While the interface is simple, creating more complex workflows requires some time to get used to, especially when dealing with custom connectors or more intricate data transformations.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend Actian DataConnect to someone looking for a versatile and scalable data integration solution, especially if they’re dealing with a hybrid IT environment.

What differentiates Actian DataConnect from other similar products?

When we used it, Actian provided satisfactory data integration capability at a cost appealing to a small business with limited budget.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Their browser based UI in v10.6 was efficient and easy to use. It was easily deployable across multiple environments.

What do you dislike most about this product?

We were forced to upgrade from DataConnect version 10.6 to 11.0 due to the widespread abandonment of browser support for Java. We were offered little to no support in migrating our existing integrations. Additionally, while we had unlimited simultaneous integrations on our v10 license, we were imposed with a single concurrent integration on the v11 license (which was not communicated to us), while the annual subscription cost was increased by over 200%. We eventually decided to abandon Actian DataConnect in favor of Informatica Cloud and were much happier.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Actian was acquired by an international company and apparently instructed to play hardball with their existing customers to increase revenues. We felt deceived by our sales rep and eventually had to abandon the software that we had used for 5+ years because they both limited our features and increased the subscription cost with very little notice.
