Tableau and AWS Expand Strategic Relationship to Bring Analytics in the Cloud Closer to Their Customers

Leading analytics player Tableau recently announced its new initiative – Modern Cloud Analytics (MCA) – which sees it partnering with Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) to make cloud-based analytics more achievable for their customers.

The MCA program combines the resources, technical expertise, and data knowledge of Tableau and AWS, and together with its validated launch partners (InterWorks, Slalom, and TEKsystems) can help customers on their end-to-end analytics journey, right from the formative stage of strategy, to migration through to operations. Customers can therefore more easily migrate data and analytics workloads to AWS and deploy and scale their cloud-based analytics capability.

This collaboration of Tableau, AWS, and their launch partners means customers can expect to see benefits such as lower operational costs, reduced time in application scaling, and validated migration processes that are backed by Tableau and AWS prescribed migration guidance, application architecture, and operating models.

Our Take

There is no doubt of the incredible value resident in the growing volume and variety of data that organizations are capturing and ingesting. Getting to the stage of seamlessly and effectively leveraging that value, however, can prove to be prohibitive for some whether constrained by expertise, resources, or legacy architecture and infrastructure. With this MCA program, organizations can capitalize on AWS’ scale and performance together with Tableau’s migration, integration, and analytics solutions to surmount those hurdles and better and more painlessly realize their analytics potential.
