Zerto, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, empowers customers to run an always-on business by simplifying the protection, recovery, and mobility of on-premises and cloud applications. Zerto’s cloud data management and protection platform eliminates the risks and complexity of modernization and cloud adoption across private, public, and hybrid deployments.

If you can afford it get it now. There has yet to be another in the market as simple and effective

Zerto is the only platform we have used for VM replication.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Easy to setup and start replicating VMs in minutes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The product has always worked great for us.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Anyone looking for VM replication between sites or cluster this is your one stop software.

What differentiates Zerto Platform from other similar products?

What I really like about Zerto is the ability to replicate to multiple targets. Most products only offer 1 target for replication.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really like the ease of use, and the ability to see the health of the system/backup state in a click or two.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Modifying existing backup group properties after they are created is a little cumbersome. Easiest to make groups with 1 machine first, tweak the group properties, and then add the rest of the machines in.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Every project and requirement for backup and retention and replication is different. Do your homework. Zerto is a great general purpose product that I find easy to use. This may or may not be the best product for your situation.

Automated Backup Testing and Verification Goes beyond monitoring whether backup jobs completed by verifying the integrity of data restoration.

Continuous Data Protection Changed data is replicated continuously and maintained in a journal, allowing an application to be consistently restored to almost any previous point in time.

Replication for High Availability Beyond secondary copy backup, the solution also manages replication of primary data host-to-host and site-to-site for live failover and high availability.

Backup of Cloud Based Data In addition to targeting backups to the cloud, the solution also has the capability to back up primary data and services already in the cloud.

Virtual Machine Backup Automatically discovers and protects VMs as they come online, move, and change. Production VMs are replicated to a secondary data store.

Replication for Long Term Storage and Disaster Recovery Onsite backup data is replicated and stored to a public cloud (AWS, Azure). Can also include restore-to-cloud capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service.

Application Consistency Groupings Provides internally consistent protection, mobility, and recovery, including from both short- and long-term retention and for a single/entire VM.

Backup Automation Solution automates backup, recovery and remediation tasks using RestAPI and CLI to integrate with 3rd party solutions, reduce cost and enforce standards.

Deduplication Implementation Deduplication of redundant data blocks is implemented by the solution. Deduplication can be at source, target, or globally (source and target).

Integration With Storage Arrays Integrates with APIs from major storage vendors (NetApp, HP, Dell EMC) to leverage capabilities in these arrays such as data snapshots and replication.
