Great for developing e-commerce easily and fast

What differentiates WooCommerce from other similar products?

Free and easy to integrate and to costumize to your needs. Bringing a e-commerce website for a basic investment. Managing the products, customers and orders easily in a clean interface. The benefits are low cost and lots of possibilities to make the store evolve in the future. Rely on Wordpress.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Easy to configure and to start using the online store. Many plugins available and custom code is somewhere easy to integrate, lots of documentation online. Many ways to accomplish everything, WooCommerce is very versatile and it is free. Maintaining a WooCommerce website is easy and they have implemented lots of stuff that are making your managing easier, the customer experience is also nearly perfect for simple store. This platform is made to be customized and lots of ressources are available to do it so.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Speed can be a problem because on the size of the database (products, relations, plugins consequences, etc.) and depending on the hosting (choosing the right place is maybe one of the most important criteria). Sometime coding and plugins interactions became messy and accomplishing what is required could be a pain for complex matter. Working with plugins is great, but sometimes it cost a lot (to make it affordable you need to buy plugins bundle for many store, even if lots of those plugins are not necessary the overall price tends to be better and one day maybe you can make use of those forgotten plugins).

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Think about your ultimate goal. If you want a e-commerce platform that is very robust and that will manage a lot of visitors, products and orders, maybe WooCommerce is not the right solution. On the other hand, it is the perfect solution to put a store online for "a few bucks". Also, always consider the price of external plugins or in-house plugins development. WooCommerce comes with many features already integrated, but as soon as you need to resolve more specific needs, you will need for sure plugins or custom code.

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Enables Productivity
  • Inspires Innovation
  • Includes Product Enhancements
