Vtiger is a great starter CRM

What differentiates Vtiger One from other similar products?
Vtiger is a great starter program but has some difficulties later on as growth happens. Vtiger is limited in some reporting features and functionality of integration with accounting softwares that are commonly used.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Many ways to customize fields & drop down menus to capture different demographic information.
What do you dislike most about this product?
As a user for many years I've always found it annoying that the search feature for customers and organizations isn't more intuitive. Such as if the customer's name is Daniel Smith and I search Dan Smith, because that's the name given to me. The profile doesn't show up. Another gripe I have is that documents uploaded to individuals under an organization profile, like a PO, do not show up in the organization profile. I have to search each individual invoice and sales order to see where the document may have been uploaded to the customer profile. If that contact ever leaves the company it can make for a very lengthy search process.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
We sometimes have to suspend customer/organization profiles. If we suspend the organization that information doesn't move across to the contacts under that profile. So sometimes we end up sending out orders to customers that should have been suspended. The fact we can invoice from the CRM but can't have actual credits on the account make it difficult for anyone not in our accounting software to see the customer credits. A lot of time is wasted searching this information.
