What differentiates VMware Live Recovery from other similar products?

We have been making regular backups of our most important servers with the assistance of this product for close to a year now. In times of crisis, SRM is tasked with performing an extremely vital function. Every year, at our business, we use SRM to carry out a variety of emergency preparedness drills, and we have found that using SRM yields very positive results. You do not need to be an industry professional to use the product. We were able to initiate the replication process for a few of the virtual application servers that house some of our most important business data with relatively little delay. What is your favorite aspect of this product?

VMWare helped us regain faith in backups after we had some very frustrating experiences in the past. Simple to manage and troubleshoot in the event of any problem. Just one click is all it takes to failover or failback.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Should you shut down your appliances or vmotion, you will receive instructions or recommendations on how to patch. Offer better understanding on DR (target) storage DRS or not to DRS, etc. There might be a problem with the vReplication. its all.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

We use the 17 server license for our environment, which allows us to accommodate all of our critical business systems for disaster recovery and business continuity. The cost of the license was manageable within our financial constraints. Must-have tool if your company requires you to failover your virtual machines to a disaster recovery site and provide valid testing and real-time numbers. Setting up a test process and walk-thru is probably the most difficult part of this process. The office of our Vice President is consistently taken aback by how effortlessly we are able to pass the annual examinations.

Replication for High Availability Beyond secondary copy backup, the solution also manages replication of primary data host-to-host and site-to-site for live failover and high availability.

Backup of Cloud Based Data In addition to targeting backups to the cloud, the solution also has the capability to back up primary data and services already in the cloud.

Deduplication Implementation Deduplication of redundant data blocks is implemented by the solution. Deduplication can be at source, target, or globally (source and target).

Replication for Long Term Storage and Disaster Recovery Onsite backup data is replicated and stored to a public cloud (AWS, Azure). Can also include restore-to-cloud capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service.

Analytics Built-in real-time and historical reporting and analytics on SLAs, performance, and resource consumption, as well as predictive capabilities to plan & optimize.

Application Awareness Application consistent backup and granular restore for application data from core applications such as MS SQL, Oracle, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint.

File Explorer Granular Restore Individual files can be located and restored from backup media without the need for full system mounting and restore.
