Slack + Jira + Google Docs = Perfect Combo

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
One of the features that made us consider Slack in the first place was easy integration with Jira that we use for our task tracking.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I think one of the best things is channels because it easily separates different topics and yet it takes a lot less space than groups in Skype (that we used prior to Slack). Also, that it has a separate thing for channels and a separate thing for direct messages is also convenient because you can navigate easily.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The fact that in the free version your older messages become hidden (until you get a paid plan) and sometimes that caused misunderstandings among the team members. However, Slack's benefits overweighted the price per user so we recently purchased a paid plan and everyone's on the same page again.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Use the free version first and understand what are your needs and requirements for the product. Also, there is usually a free trial for different durations, so it allows you to get the taste of what premium is like and understand whether you need it or not. Chances are - like our company - you will end up getting a paid plan because Slack is GOOD. Or, you might just continue with the free plan and that'll be enough.
