What makes Slack shine is its balance of simplicity and power; it’s easy to dive into, but it also has layers of functionality that make it indispensable for a busy finance department.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

One thing that really sets Slack apart is its integrations. We’ve linked it with tools like Excel, our accounting software, and even Google Drive, so we can pull up reports or share documents without leaving the platform. Workflow Builder is another standout—it automates routine tasks like reminding the team about monthly financial reporting deadlines or flagging transactions that need approval. It’s saved us countless hours.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I dislike nothing about Slack.

I’d recommend Slack without hesitation to any finance team. It’s the perfect blend of communication and organization, making it an essential tool for staying on top of the numbers and in sync with your team.

The app can get slow with too many integrations. Notifications can become overwhelming if you don’t set them right.

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack offers a more complete software based on communication between various work groups, it offers the possibility of organizing several chat channels for the same organization while other platforms offer single channels for work teams, I consider that Slack offers broader communication methods. It is an excellent multi-function platform, since it also allows video and audio meetings, each meeting can be created in a personalized way, sending new invitations and managing participants, the quality of each meeting and the stability is something that stands out a lot and surpasses any competition that Slack has.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love that communication within Slack takes place in real time, all messages are sent and received instantly without any delay, this helps communication to be consistent at all times. It has many integrations available, Slack integrates with almost all platforms today and this is very useful because you can integrate it to a project or task management platform, either to manage new assignments while staying in communication with your work team. Slack also allows you to upload new files to the communication channel and work together on that document file. I loved the collaboration within Slack because it allows you to enhance teamwork.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The main negative aspect is the prices that are handled in Slack's paid plans. Despite being a platform with a lot of potential for team communication, I consider that its costs are a bit high. It is a platform that has many problems with the old message history, since it is quite complicated to find old messages within Slack. Most messages are lost over time since the work team's chat history grows every day. I would like to see filters implemented in the chat history in order to find old messages on specific dates.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I recommend using Slack on your mobile device. The app on your cell phone works perfectly. It offers constant notifications so that you are informed about the latest activity that your work team channel has had and the information that has been shared recently. Using this app will boost your results when you start using Slack, as it helps you stay connected without having to access the desktop version.
