What is ServiceNow Asset Management?
ServiceNow Asset Management tracks the financial, contractual, and inventory details of hardware and virtual infrastructure – as well as non‑IT assets – throughout their lifecycle. Asset requests are handled using workflows to obtain approvals, validate entitlements, issue chargebacks, and provision services. Once an asset is deployed, Asset Management records all maintenance activity and enables IT to perform regular audits, right up until asset retirement.

What differentiates ServiceNow Asset Management from other similar products?
The integration of the full enterprise from Service Management to Financial Management.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ease of tracking entitlements and usage information with proper integrations to existing systems (ie SCCM, Intune, Adobe, etc)
What do you dislike most about this product?
The reliance on outdated systems like sccm. Not necessarily a servicenow issue if the clients aren’t moving towards more modern cloud services but still a thorn in my side.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Either make sure your internal house is cleaned up and you have structured naming conventions and solid communications between AD, SCCM or if currently in the ServiceNow world verify and clean up your foundational data (user, location, company tables, etc)
