Helped us to scale our onboarding significantly!

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Seismic Learning from other similar products?

Creating content is so easy - because the interface is less customizable than other platforms, it's easy to get great-looking content up and running in a matter of minutes. And it's easy to scale, too, since other team members can quickly learn how to use the interface without much onboarding.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The Practice feature is awesome - it's easy for Learners to upload videos, screen recordings, and more for feedback. They will see the criteria they are being graded on, and can record multiple times to submit the best possible take.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Lessonly doesn't convert PPT into video, like some other platforms do. It's also not the most customizable interface, so you will have limited options for the look and feel of lessons.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're looking for a solution that is easy to stand up and scale, while providing opportunities for learners to submit feedback, take assessments, and practice, this is a great solution! And if you use Seismic for content management, the integration between Lessonly and the CMS is seamless.

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
  • Unique Features

jack of all trades, master of none

What differentiates Seismic Learning from other similar products?

Lessonly provides team leads with a quick way to build onboarding and education paths quickly and with very little effort.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's incredibly easy to build a lesson track and assign it to users. It allows for content reuse and updating. Tracking and automatic reminders is great. The ability to assign managers, admins, content creators, and learners made administration easy (once we started doing it).

What do you dislike most about this product?

It's missing a lot of core features, like the ability for learners to actively collaborate on each others' work. Having your learners teach is a major aspect of learning and it's a big gap without. Administration NEEDS ownership right off the bat. It gets out of hand very quickly if you don't manage it well. Expect this to take a lot of your week if you're rapidly shifting company. Copy/paste is screwy, but that's almost every app out there so I cut them slack on it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you don't have a dedicated education person or knowledge manager, but need to get your onboarding off the ground, Lessonly is great. You can create lessons quickly and have them sent to your team for quick assessment and completion. It's important that you establish an owner for this software the moment you sign on. You'll need someone to handle getting everyone listed and mark what their access levels are. This becomes unwieldy super fast, so this should be step one before you do anything else.

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Respectful
  • Enables Productivity
  • Inspires Innovation

Cons

  • Leverages Incumbent Status
  • Inhibits Innovation
  • Slower Product Innovation
