What differentiates RSA NetWitness Platform from other similar products?

Unlike similar products, RSA NetWitness Suite can be utilized as a network DVR that can be used to look back at events. It does full packet capture and reconstruction. For forensic analysis this is invaluable. Also with this product you can generate alerts and incidents that flow directly into RSA Archer Security Operations module.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Full packet capture allows look back on security events. Threat analysis of captured packets provide additional indicators of compromise, which is extremely helpful.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Updates frequently break the box and require support intervention. The meta part to form the dashboards are bit complicated. The GUI could be made more understandable and user-friendly. Lacking out of the box best practice templates - It relies heavily on customization.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It is really a robust platform that can be heavily customized to suit requirements. Good for advanced hunting and forensics. Robust automation features. Spend some time learning how to customize this product and you're going to fall in love with it.
