Only few features fit requirement off-the-shelf

What differentiates Rockwell Automation MES from other similar products?
Decent performance in CPG, Automotive and Tire Industry. But heavily custom coded. Off-the-shelf features are not many that can be deployed as it is. As a result of customization implementation time is long and undergoes many version changes. Not suitable for Pharma industry as the MES does not provide libraries or tools that help speed up implementation and also lacks domain expertise to handle regulated industry requirements. Overall good in integrating with L2 Automation systems of Rockwell's own, requires tedious customization with Siemens, Emerson L2 systems; not so good with ERP systems. Summary - good for discrete industries
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Machine Integration Capability Ability to customize to meet the whims and fancies of users
What do you dislike most about this product?
Too much Customization result in too many bugs which results in high maintenance expenditure Requires huge investment on Infrastructure Not suitable for Cloud environment as the Rockwell MES technology is completely built on Java which is not native to Cloud Long time to design workflows Lack of standard process libraries
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Yes for Discrete manufacturing like Auto, Tire and Auto components No to Batch and Continuous process industries
Pros
- Acts with Integrity
- Trustworthy
- Fair
- Security Protects

- Commodity Features

- Under Delivered
