What differentiates Rapid7 InsightIDR from other similar products?

InsightIDR provides strong core SIEM features, coupled with a detection-focused feature-set, including honey users, honey tokens, honeypots and in-memory credential-dump detection. The Rapid7 team have experienced the frontline in Cybersecurity and it shows in the product.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The numerous detection features, prviding a traditional but modern and comprehensive way of detecting adversaries.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Lack of Forensics on MacOS was a bit dissapointing.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Hands-down one of the best SIEMs out there, for on-prem or in the Cloud - the detection tooling is second to none.

What differentiates Rapid7 InsightIDR from other similar products?

Perhaps, the most important advantage of InsightIDR over other products on the market is the solution’s simplicity and friendly interface. It does not require technical knowledge in cybersecurity to be able to exploit the full features of the tool and therefore useful to small, medium and large businesses.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

If I have to pick one thing that I love so much about InsightIDR it is the fact that I can easily link it with other security tools and can have a holistic view of what is really happening at my company.

What do you dislike most about this product?

In what I personally dislike, I can’t really point my finger at any flaw of InsightIDR that I faced so far. Of course, one more area that can be HttpServlet enhanced would be the level of customizations for the reports and alerts though for now I remain rather satisfied with its performance.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Consequently, I would wish to encourage any company in need of an effective and reliable means of combating cyber threats to consider acquiring the Rapid7 InsightIDR. Due to simplicity of operation, identification of threats, ability to respond, and compatibility with other tools, it is one of the best for protecting information.

What differentiates Rapid7 InsightIDR from other similar products?

The platform is incredibly user-friendly and offers fast time-to-value, especially for mid-sized teams. Its behavioral analytics and streamlined threat detection really stand out compared to clunkier legacy SIEMs.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The intuitive dashboards and user behavior analytics make it easy to spot threats fast. You don’t need to be a SIEM expert to get value from day one.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Integration with some third-party tools can be tricky or require manual setup. Would love to see more plug-and-play options and deeper SOAR capabilities.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're a lean security team or new to SIEMs, InsightIDR is one of the most accessible and low-maintenance tools out there. Just make sure to involve both IT and business teams early during setup.
