Extremely customizable .NET solution
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Progress Sitefinity from other similar products?
Simple installation/management through Nuget into a fully customizable .NET solution for 100% developer control.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The administration settings are all accessible through a simple portal to be able to customize absolutely any element, including overriding base classes with custom versions, building and installing custom modules, and adapting it to fit every specific business need.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The built in features for mobile responsiveness and bundling of script files seem overly clunky to me, but luckily both have simple alternatives of just using your own Bootstrap (or similar) pages/templates/content and managing scripts from master pages.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you have the technical resources for it, creating your own widgets from their bases classes (or even from scratch) is pretty simple and allows end users to have power/options beyond the built in suite of tools.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Enables Productivity
- Trustworthy
- Saves Time
Cons
- Less Performance Enhancing
- Commodity Features
- Less Generous
