A Low-Code Platform that Delivers!

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates OutSystems from other similar products?

OutSystems is special given that they have been in the Rapid Application Development / Low-Code Industry for years and they have shown and provided continues improvement with the platform. The enhancements to the platform since I have started using it in 2013 was great, back then it already felt outstanding but come to see where OutSystems is at now, we have a whole set of tools that eliminates the basic and complex challenges I had with the Platform years ago.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love developing with OutSystems, simply because it helps everyone learn and understand how the platform is in general and how to develop with it. As a Developer, it is great to have features such as "TrueChange" "1-Click Publish" and Development Tools that OutSystems provides to the community and their users such as the "Architecture Dashboard", "WorkFlow, Experience and Integration Builder". The tools and features I have mentioned, helps the developer with applying the best practices and lessens the developer from committing basic mistakes such as publishing or deploying unfinished codes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It happens on very minimal occasions but sometimes you may encounter error codes or error messages that are very hard to trace using the tools and definitions of the error that it returns which would then lead to creating support tickets to receive some clarity coming from the Support Engineers of OutSystems who would know further details about the certain error encounter.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're looking for fast-paced development then outsystems is the best product for you! You can build basic to complex applications with this product and I have tested it out myself from starting to build simple dashboard and basic applications that would keep track of records into building a complex application that has thousands of users daily throughout the entire country. OutSystems promotes and helps you cover the four major tracks of software development. Scalability, Security, Maintainability and Performance.

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Trustworthy
  • Respectful
  • Fair

Great enterprise low-code platform

Likeliness to Recommend

8 /10

What differentiates OutSystems from other similar products?

better suited to a .net code migration parts of mid-code can coexist with low-code

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

- Good low-code platform with a low learning curve. It's easy to start being productive as a complete novice programmer. - Interactive training, guided paths, and courses cover most typical use cases. - One-click deployment and very good application for development. - Strong community and good repository of reusable open code modules, connectors, UI components, and business solutions.

What do you dislike most about this product?

- Still no dark mode in Service Studio but i think that would come soon™ - Css customization and js library management could be better. - Some components not work correctly in a few situations like table inside other table. - Reactive apps has no integrated pdf export solution. - Validation becomes hard when using Web Blocks and/or reusable validation rules. - Debugging is a bit tricky and isn't possible to debug an extension in a cloud environment. I think that the fast road is not always the best, in some cases low code is not the solution .

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

- not a cheap product, review your possible use cases - check his workflow bussisness solutions: workflow builder, etc. - The development with multiple developers, collaboration on the scale as part of an agile team within one application is still challenging and needs to be orchestrated.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Acts with Integrity
  • Performance Enhancing
