What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

user-friendly and ability to cater to various data ingestion sources does help to increase the efficiencies in data analytics

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

custome styling of report and visusalization.

What do you dislike most about this product?

when too much measure or dax is used, the report will take time to upload or refresh

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

it's cost-effective for the company who already use Microsoft products in their business like Outlook or Microsoft 365, don't spend money on different providers if you already subscribed to Microsoft.

What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

PowerBI is more established and provides connections to just about any data source you can think of. It is very flexible and provides many ways to present data to the users.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to view Live data is huge for us. This gives us important information to make decisions on the spot and not having to wait for the next day or week to be updated. Providing access to the live data to users allows for insight among the team that we did not have before with the stagnant emailed reports.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Administration of BI dashboards and users is a real pain. Especially when sharing and managing external users who are outside of the company. Everything from the licensing side must be done in the Microsoft portal and I understand that, but I would prefer the ability to make changes from the PowerBI UI instead. Sharing of reports and setting up permissions could be more intuitive and make my job a lot easier.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Get a good DBA. Having a competent DBA to set up the data connections, reports and dashboards is critically. I personally have decent abilities with data, but am glad we used a DBA to set this up. It saved a lot of time and headaches by having a good partner to work with us.
