What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

Microsoft Power BI is in my opinion the most powerful business intelligence tool currently available. It is very straightforward to use, even with a steeper learning curve, and does the job perfectly. This product is absolutely critical in our job, as we use it to visualize our large datasets and metadata in dashboards and to be able make quick business decisions.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's seamless integration within the family of Microsoft Office 365 apps for business is a major advantage when deploying this software. It can easily grab data from SharePoint, where you have various Excel files linked to the Dashboards in PowerBI and you can quickly visualize all the large datasets in ease.

What do you dislike most about this product?

While the PowerBI offers users customizability, it is near impossible to create visually stunning user interfaces within the app. It is still a very research/business focused tool, which can be very hard to sell to end users, who are not familiar with the technology.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

As there is a very steep learning curve, I would recommend browsing through numerous documentations and manuals to very quickly get hands on how the product works and how to operate it. It can be very easy to "break things" with a simple missclick, if you don't know how to operate it.
