What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

Power BI Desktop is a service for aggregating data and sharing it in charts and tables in the cloud. As a convenient point, the burden of account management does not increase and data can be updated automatically. If the company already uses Microsoft 365 (Office 365), etc., account management is a way to grant reporting authority to the organization's account, so users do not need to remember new IDs and passwords. Access your reports with your regular Microsoft 365 organizational account. IT only has to deal with existing account management and the burden will not increase.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

For automatic data update, even if the data source is located on an internal server or shared folder, the means and tools to obtain the data are provided so that you can prepare the data acquisition environment. The data is updated according to the set schedule/interval (e.g. hourly), so you can refer to the latest data whenever you need it. You can also share by email attachment. By changing the work of summarizing weekly sales and sharing it via email once a week to share it with this Power BI service, there was a time reduction effect of about 5 hours per month.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are occasional errors (extraction of comments from free-form fields in questionnaires, etc.), but the numerical data analysis is absolutely flawless.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It is definitely better suited for visualizing large amounts of data than Excel, so I think it will be useful for worthwhile work. I used to spend hours analyzing data, but now I can generate reports of results and have meetings based on the data compiled by Power BI. We used several in-house BI tools, but Power BI was the most intuitive for creating charts and freely organizing them as reports (dashboards). I feel it is very intuitive and convenient to be able to create elements, organize them like PowerPoint and adjust.

Power BI can connect to a wide variety of data sources, including Excel, SQL Server, and many others, Power BI allows users to access their data and visualizations from their mobile devices, making it easy to stay connected and informed while on the go.

What do you dislike most about this product?

One potential drawback of Microsoft Power BI is that it can be complex and difficult to learn for users without prior experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools. Additionally, some users may find the cost of the full version to be prohibitive, as it requires a subscription to Microsoft's Office 365 platform. Other users may find that the software has limitations in terms of data connectivity and integration with other tools, which can make it difficult to work with large or complex data sets.

Microsoft Power BI is a great software for advanced analytics where we can connect from various sources. With this tools we created a powerful business dashboard, customized reports, and even set alerts for anomalies and specific targets.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It provides users with the possibility to create dimensions and new relations between tables without the need for an external tool to do that. Ease of access for the data exploration helps make increasingly informed decisions in reaction to business needs.

What do you dislike most about this product?

To make the most of Power BI’s advanced features, users must learn their calculation language called DAX and the organization must have good data modeling expertise.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Power BI has many powerful features and offers many possibilities of integration with different sources and effectively converts unstructured statistical information into comprehensive logical results.
