What differentiates Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics from other similar products?

One can do everything related to creating a pipeline with this single tool. We can extract the data, transform it, orchestrate the pipeline and even store the data which I think is not feasible with any other tool to my knowledge.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

We can integrate it directly with Data Factory to facilitate any data transformations. We can also integrate it with other services and even external dashboarding tools which can be then used to create reports.

What do you dislike most about this product?

We need to start and switch off the storage cluster manually in this service. Also, the costing for persistent tables is high as compared to other Data warehousing tools.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Always remember to switch off the cluster whenever not being used since not doing this would increase your costing exponentially.

What differentiates Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics from other similar products?

It is easy to use, we can create multiple jobs using synapse studio it could be azure data factory, databricks and SQL data warehouse. it supports all the processes and it easily handles a big amount of data we can easily define indexes and dimensions in the synapse analytics platform. Connection with other Microsoft applications is easy and sustainable

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favourite aspect of this product: 1) SQL pool 2) Copy Job - You can create a copy job from any of the multiple connectors within the workspace. 3) Data Flow 4) Data pipeline 5) Machine learning 6) Visualization and analytics

What do you dislike most about this product?

Nothing as of now

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are looking for following feature this is must use solution: Reduce time to market Enhance decision making Improve business process agility Drive revenue growth Drive innovation Create internal/operational efficiencies Cost management Improve business process outcomes Improve compliance & risk management

What differentiates Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics from other similar products?

It has integrated many Microsoft services like ADF, PowerBI, Spark, SQL etc It has severless pool, which takes data from external files. TSQL is so powerful

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

TSQL. also monitoring for pipelines and queries got easier. Ability to work in web with GIT integration for database is convenient. Sever less SQL pool is fast and good.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It sometimes hangs the queries and then we have to manually kill it. We cant create PowerBI datasets here nor we can query from them, which if allowed will make it extreme powerful.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Its all in one tool, if you use Microdoft stack, its a go.
