Good old Jira, get the job done

What differentiates Jira from other similar products?

Jira is your basic and robust task and project management tool. It includes easy to use and understand task list, many integrations to SDLC systems (bitbucket is my favorite), and very good scrum and kanban management features.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Simple to use after initial set up and very robust in terms of task flow and management

What do you dislike most about this product?

The UI is a bit dated and it can be complicated to set up workflows for complex projects

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's the industry standard, and while it might not be shiny and slick like newer solutions, it gets the job done.

What differentiates Jira from other similar products?

The scalable solution offers users a robust set of enterprise-grade features and security for every stage of business growth. Its Atlassian Marketplace gives developers additional options to create add-ons to extend any feature of the software. Jira Cloud is a complete SaaS solution that gives users the benefit of immediate access to the latest Atlassian features with automatic updates. And because Jira is cloud-based, it's often a cost-effective solution that frees users from the responsibility of worrying about servers, storage or maintenance.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Jira is ideal for software teams with its feature set and integration capabilities needed for agile and effective software development. Jira users can leverage other products such as Jira Service Desk, now known as Service Management for incident, problem and change management. A team with simpler needs can try Jira Core, which is a simplified project management tool that can help a team introduce Jira capabilities to the organization.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The browser must be refreshed manually to see new tickets, which can confuse things when multiple people in a meeting are creating tickets frequently. The interface in some smaller parts of the software is sometimes difficult to understand.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This is an ideal tool for teams using iterative approaches. A team can optimize Jira's issue tracking functionality using custom screens, custom fields and workflows to handle both manual and automated testing; it is applicable to a variety of project types. Its project templates can help a small team get a project started quickly. Users can quickly customize a template to fit a unique team workflow.
