What differentiates Jira from other similar products?
Jira is the only major project management software I have used, that sets no limitations on the software products I can integrate it with. Therefore as a team, we have successfully brought vital software tools we use on a daily basis into our project management workflow by simply integrating them with Jira. This of course has led to better day to day operational data management for our projects while simplifying and automating a lot of our project management efforts .
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Jira's product delivery feature for me, is what I have most enjoyed about Jira in recent times. With this feature, members of my department are capturing project ideas and insights faster, through organized user feedback and engagement. Perhaps most importantly, this feature has better aligned my department with the business operations teams within my company , by making it possible to connect product ideas with real time project management efforts .
What do you dislike most about this product?
Out of the box , Jira comes with limited team collaboration capabilities. A case in point is the absence of a provision for real time team messaging , which is critical for successful project management. Although, as a team, we have successfully navigated this hurdle by integrating Jira with Slack to provide us with all of the real-time team collaboration capabilities we desire for effective project management. We will however still prefer Jira having the above capabilities by default.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Adoption or use of Jira within a team depends on the expectations and needs of the team in question.
