What differentiates GitHub Copilot from other similar products?

GitHub Copilot is deeply integrated into Visual Studio Code and GitHub, offering real-time suggestions that feel natural and highly responsive. It’s trained on a wide variety of code from open-source repositories, giving it strong versatility and the ability to suggest useful code snippets quickly.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect is how seamlessly it assists during coding, offering real-time, context-aware code suggestions that save time and reduce repetitive work. It often feels like pair programming with an intelligent assistant.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It sometimes generates incorrect or outdated code, especially when dealing with newer libraries or less common use cases. It also lacks full understanding of large codebases across multiple files.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Try it out on smaller projects first to get comfortable. It’s great for increasing productivity, but always review the generated code carefully and use it as a helper, not a replacement for learning.

What differentiates GitHub Copilot from other similar products?

It can be integrated into all the IDEs already used by our development teams, across all the programming languages we work with.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to add files as context for the prompts.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sometimes it hallucinates — it makes up things that don’t actually exist but seem contextually plausible, which requires the user to have good judgment.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Start using it as soon as possible — it’s a powerful tool. But even with its help, never stop learning how to code, because you’ll still need to recognize and correct any hallucinations it might generate.
