What differentiates Fortra's Automate from other similar products?

There is so much functionality. Debug problems by stepping through the task, and setup the process to create a log report. If you take the time to set it up, you can easily determine the bugs and solutions. Otherwise, you can also let the software take care of reporting on the problems via email. You can also create functions rather that having a long process of repeated code. There are 3 different levels of variables (global vs. private) that you can use and create depending on where you need to reference them in your process. You can also create a single task to be used in repeat processes - save time and effort - just plug it in.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really appreciate reusability. Having some common tasks built and debugged, so I can plug them into a new process and know they will most likely run successfully saves me so much time! I also really like the flexibility to create my own process log, and my own error emails, so I can debug problems easily and quickly, sometimes without even having to open Automate as the info I need is in an email and my attached log.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I really would like to be able to create my own functions once in a place where I can reference them in all my tasks. This way any changes I do to my functions would be done in only one place, and take effect everywhere. Also, this would allow multiple users to create and share functions.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Someone using this product should have programming experience to get the most of it. Also, the best-practices tutorial video that is available from Automate is hugely helpful! Definately recommend!
