What differentiates Dell Data Protection Suite from other similar products?

Dell EMC PowerProtect (DataDomain) provides seamless integration

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

When you use it with DataDomain, it can do most of the backup and data storage itself in the background.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It does not offer different features to the user in the field of compression and deduplication.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Although it could compete with its competitors in the market in the past, I think it lags a bit.

What differentiates Dell Data Protection Suite from other similar products?

we have migrated our Database backups to DDBOOST recently, it works great and DBA guys like it, because DDBOOST software naively integrates with their native backup tools(SQL management studio and RMAN). Same time backups can be automated by scripts and DBA guys still own the backup and restore functions.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

We have been running DDBOOST for last 4 years. it works great and DBA guys like it, because DDBOOST software naively integrates with their native backup tools(SQL management studio and RMAN). Same time backups can be automated by scripts and DBA guys still own the backup and restore functions. We automated install/upgrade of agents and automated configuration of backups using scripts. we recently started using Appsync and PPDM , I am looking forward to see PPDM will be able to take snapshots(SQL,oracle,VMware and other applications) in VMAX/PowerMax and able to present a consolidated view of Primary/secondary storage snapshots and DDBOOST bac

What do you dislike most about this product?

Below are few things, DELLEMC can improve 1. Integrate AppSync functionality in to PPDM 2. ability to report on historical backup reports like how fast backups are done,throughput, dedup/compression savings and etc 3. Graphical dashboard view of primary/secondary storage snapshots and DDboost backups(with Data Domain information)4. able to clone existing database for test/dev 5.self service restore for end customers for table level restores.6. DDBOOST agent automatic upgrade or push from PPDM

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Please do POC and compare with different solutions before you make any decision

What differentiates Dell Data Protection Suite from other similar products?

The difference between this software and others on the market is that it has provided us with the solution we need to protect our documents, since being based on the cloud provides us with the necessary protection against any problem or error, thanks to its wonderful implementation of data protection we have managed to recover or delete any file in a satisfactory way.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

This wonderful and complete software has given us everything we need to protect all our files and documents, since it allows us in a very simple but complete way to store, capture, manage and eliminate unwanted files, in addition to that we can recover those same emails if we need any information stored in them.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The only considerable disadvantage of this software is that if your data is stored outside of the corporate network, access to its services will suffer if the Internet is unstable or the connection fails.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Thanks to the use of this interesting and complete software, our companies will have more complete results. You can implement it as a wonderful enabler for your business, the performance is very accurate and you will get what you are looking for, since this platform is the best on the market.

Deduplication Implementation Deduplication of redundant data blocks is implemented by the solution. Deduplication can be at source, target, or globally (source and target).

Backup Monitoring and Reporting Backup and replication are continually monitored for status and effectiveness. Detailed reporting is available on successful and unsuccessful operations.

Backup Automation Solution automates backup, recovery and remediation tasks using RestAPI and CLI to integrate with 3rd party solutions, reduce cost and enforce standards.
