What differentiates Concrete CMS from other similar products?

Concrete5 is easy to use, implement and offers the most comprehensive website CMS out-of-the-box.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Concrete5 (C5) is simple and easy to customize with a basic understanding of CMS implementation. Moreover, C5 has out-of-the-box great security features and further marketing features ready to set-up.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The only obstacle we have had with Concrete5 was back in 2008 when C5 redesigned the entire platform and made any prior development come to end of life rather quickly. From there, we've had minor bumps with C5's newest platform updates. Since 2017, most of the issues we saw with updates in the past were passed. However, at times, minor issues are still seen with updates. The impact of the change in 2008 had many 3rd party developers leave C5 behind and it's popularity dropped. This is sometimes discouraging when seeking for 3rd party development and developers.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Anyone interested in Concrete5 (C5), or any CMS website system, requires a bit of knowledge and understanding of CMS implementation and interface. If an interested party has limited knowledge of CMS's, I recommend seeking an experienced developer for Concrete5. Although C5's inline editing interface is very intuitive, some CMS skill or experience is needed. Moreover, I would recommend ongoing and continual updates as spam and hacking continue to evolve. These are made fairly easy, but again back-up and understanding or restoration, if things don't go quite right with an update, is needed.
