Collibra is a intelligent and secured approach to the data. It has excellent workflows and processes that simplify your day-to-day tasks. With its data catalog it is now easy to find and get access the data we need and we can also analyze the data sources.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It gives various features such as integration of data with sources, reports, dashboards, and knowledgebase for the users. It is a cloud-based enterprise tool that can be access from anywhere and anytime.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The cost might be an issue for small and medium organizations. The training materials needs improvements. User documentation requires some advancements and company should take the timely feedbacks from the users to cover it up. Also, the technical support and services should be improved.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Collibra is one of the best data governance platform and widely used by the organizations worldwide. You can go with it if you have sufficient budget for licenses.

What differentiates Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud from other similar products?

Collibra still maintains its independence as a vendor, so it broadly supports integrations/connectors from across the industry. The Collibra University is a great differentiator too, since it provides excellent and easy-to-understand training for every Data Governance role, as well as opportunities for certification. The tool was very install as a SaaS application and required minimal configuration. The metadata operating model hierarchy has 100+ asset types already but is also very easy to customize. The out-of-the-box characteristics (attributes or relationships) are very easy to apply to any asset type.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favourite aspect is simply having a quality tool that is capable of inventorying and governing ALL the data assets of our organization. Whether a column, a business process, a system, a business term, a report, or anything else, the characteristics of every data asset can be easily documented, bring visibility and transparency of data to everyone. Even when a business term is defined differently by two different business units, Collibra supports that and lets the business units decide whether they wish to standardize on a definition or not. The core modules, business lineage, technical(data) lineage, and search feature are easy to use.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The out-of-the-box dashboards/UIs are not the greatest. Organizations should create custom dashboards, however the out-of-the-box widgets are limited in graphics and design, so the best recommendation is to set up an HTML dashboard page for your organization with links to the glossary, reports, data dictionary, systems, policies, rules, etc. As Collibra has integrated separate modules (Collibra Data Lineage and now Collibra Data Quality), the UI is only getting a bit more unwieldy. It will need a larger redesign soon. The individual asset pages were redesigned in the past year, but didn't improve the experience much.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You 100% need C-Level executive sponsorship or DG will fail at your organization. You need the authority and mandate to act in your role for collecting metadata and enforce collaboration (much like an internal audit team). The entire company needs to provide data access in order to reach completeness, which is essential, since documenting only one part of your company's metadata is much less valuable. Since Collibra collects mainly metadata that only describes and documents your data assets, there is no reason for business units to withhold data access. Most business units will need a designated steward as a resource.

Collibra is a powerful platform for your data that has great features and easy metadata management. It gives the organization a better decision and improves operational efficiency. It gives the end-users great data quality with regularity compliance. Overall a great and action-packed platform for your organization.

The main features are: 1) Excellent compatibility 2) Data governance framework 3) Easy workflows for users 4) Centralized dashboard 5) Easy configuration

What do you dislike most about this product?

Nothing to say about its dislikes as the solution has all the features a user might need. However, license cost can be improved along with support to the data discovery, and data profiling shall also be optimized. The company also needs to focus on improving customer services.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You can go ahead with this solution. Collibra platform provides business-centric concepts with a high level of graphical user interfaces which is very user-centric.
