SpaceClaim is used in a number of applications including concept modeling, bid modeling, 2D to 3D transition, manufacturing, reverse engineering, sheet metal manufacturing and model prep.

What differentiates Ansys SpaceClaim from other similar products?

Ansys SpaceClaim Engineer is one of its kind unique product to create, edit, or modify desired geometry without the complexity associated with traditional CAD systems.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Its great feature is that even a new user not having much experience with CAD systems can easily use and design own products.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Spaceclaim is built to overcome the problems associated with other design software, so far its been working great.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Should try especially when you don't have experienced CAD users in your organization.

What differentiates Ansys SpaceClaim from other similar products?

In general, it's an excellent product; I learnt finite element analysis using this program, and to this day, I find it to be the best platform for carrying out tasks of that kind. ANSYS Mechanical is not the software that I like to use for 3D modeling; nevertheless, when I need to undertake modeling in addition to analysis, I turn to ANSYS Mechanical rather than other applications.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Creating solid bodies, then deleting those bodies to build the necessary final geometry model, simplifies the process. In addition, surface repair methods like sewing and filling comparable holes cut down on the amount of work that has to be done. I also really like how we can develop 2D drawings and then convert them into 3D models using those sketches. Extremely helpful for CFD applications in which the interior volume may be derived in a manner that is somewhat more straightforward.

What do you dislike most about this product?

When trying to combine with surfaces that have minor gaps, the Stitch option may not always operate well. But as time went on, I picked up certain skills that allowed me to approach it from a different angle. In addition, a few of the surface repair choices don't live up to my expectations in terms of how well they function.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You won't need design engineers as much, and you'll have an easier time designing, simulating, and improving the components on your own. This makes DOE research more effective.
