What differentiates Amazon EC2 from other similar products?

Amazon EC2 is built on an enterprise-grade architecture that provides users with scalability, reliability and security. It also features a wide selection of options to customize its services based on user needs. Moreover, it supports a wide variety of operating systems, making it easy to deploy and manage applications across multiple platforms. Amazon EC2 also offers users the ability to quickly create virtual machines with pre-configured images, allowing them to build their environment in minutes.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I can quickly and easily increase the size of my environment to meet increasing demands, or decrease it when I’m done with my task. This allows me to save money by only using the resources I need, when I need them. Additionally, EC2 provides a wide range of instance types, so I’m able to tailor my environment for the specific task at hand. From general purpose computing instances to memory optimized and GPU-accelerated ones – EC2 has got me covered.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There is still much potential for improvement in the EC2 interface. It seems difficult to condense everything into one interface since it is so vast. I believe that it has improved with time, but not to the level of DigitalOcean, which has an excellent functional and well-designed user interface. Additionally, the documentation is not particularly developer friendly (have you seen Mailgun's development docs?) but it still works well for you.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Amazon EC2 provides a variety of security measures to protect the data stored in its cloud. These include Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, Cloudwatch alarms, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), encryption-at-rest options, and more. By using these features, businesses can be sure that their data is kept safe and secure. I would recommend that anyone considering Amazon EC2 should take the time to understand and implement these security features for maximum protection.

The ELB is the best for load balancing and it is highly available

What differentiates Amazon EC2 from other similar products?

The different service providers are quite mutually exclusive, and one cannot easily use more than one at the same time without dealing with network slowness, etc. So once some companies start with AWS EC2, it's very hard to switch seamlessly. But AWS EC2 is quite good on its own compared to the others out there and can provide almost everything a team needs with minimal effort.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Testing. Spinning up an EC2 virtual machine to test applications, services, etc is invaluable.

What do you dislike most about this product?

This service is a bit difficult to consume. New users need a big learning curve to use this service effectively.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is extremely useful for small virtual servers. For instance, we use EC2 instances for inexpensive unified cloud controllers
