What differentiates Altova MapForce from other similar products?

I don't have expirience with another tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Easy of use to produce XML and XBRL from Excel or databases.

What do you dislike most about this product?

To work with XBRl, this tool is a quite tricky.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's a very good product with a fair cost.

What differentiates Altova MapForce from other similar products?

Can't really tell as we had little time to launch some project and didn't do proper research on what's there.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

That graphical interface with 'blocks'. Overall it doesn't look too modern but considering what MapForce is used for it is still a fine compromise between console tools and spreadsheet.

What do you dislike most about this product?

This is my ocd'ish quirk so please don't take it too seriously but since you asked... :) I MUST have all blocks aligned to the single pixel, I spend probably 75% of time aligning them and other 25% actually doing mapping stuff. The thing is at default 100% zoom everything is quite small so normally I would zoom in to say 150% the region I am currently working on and then zoom back but when you do that your block are not aligned the same way thery were before! So I can't use zoom at all. I don't like the fact MapForce tends to loose XLSX formatting to - while it is explained how to NOT break formatting it still does that on input XLSX.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would personally like to be able to change font/them/color etc., just here and there. I know it is not that kind of product to catch your eye but when you spend many many hours looking at this is would be nice (take Visual Studio as example - it is a tool for professionals etc. but you can make it look in way you are more happy with). And obiously that alignment-breaking zoom! Please please fix that or you may as well remove zoom at all :D
