What differentiates Algolia from other similar products?

Algolia's search algorithms just work. I've worked with different search bars across many web applications, and usually the search results just aren't exactly what you need. This is different for Algolia search.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The control you have over your indexes, and how search results are found and displayed. This really allows us to customise what products we want to show a customer when they search, and really make the search personal and specific to our platform.

What do you dislike most about this product?

We use React.js as the main framework for our web application. Algolia has built-in React components that you can use to get the initial implementation up and running within a few hours. We did note, however, that these components aren't always fully optimised, and causes some additional load on some of our pages. Considering removing all Algolia-written components, and just using their REST API to get access to that wonderful search algorithm.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Try the free tier of their product in some small form of application. You'll be implementing their search functionality on your main platform soon after, I promise.

What differentiates Algolia from other similar products?

Easy of integration and vast libraries to help support a quick turn around on development.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability for the product to work and empower for the tech-side and business-side simultaneously.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Honestly my only gripe is having to dig through forum posts to find out how exactly search params work.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Make sure your required throughput will be supported by Algolia.
