Indispensable relational database tool

Likeliness to Recommend

What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

We use Airtable for a variety of purposes, but the primary function is helping us keep track of product information. Not only can we customize the fields and data to suit our needs, but we can also create unique filtered views and share limited amounts of this information with different teams within our company, streamlining operations by minimizing back and forth questions. In the past we had used Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, but the ability to create links between tables and generate endless variations on views make Airtable far superior.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Recently Airtable added the ability to create a preloaded filter for an embedded view that layers on top of any filters inherent in the view. This has proved very helpful, as it allows us to consolidate views in our database while specifically filtering them to show only a portion of the records to end users.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Not so much a problem with the product as an inherent challenge with relational databases—planning and structuring the database can be complicated, especially for the less experienced users that Airtable tends to invite. But given that inherent difficulty, Airtable makes setup as accessible as I can imagine.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Utilize the template gallery and other examples, and play around with different ideas while planning out your database. With the portability of data in Airtable, you can get your hands dirty along the way and better learn what you need, without a lot of extra work.

Excellent software for managing projects

What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

Users may tailor Airtable to their own needs and processes by modifying the app's appearance, behavior, and functionality. In my line of business, this is crucial. It's possible to connect it to other programs, including the popular chat app Slack. The best aspect is that you can access it from any internet-enabled device, such as a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Because of this I am able to get more done in less time.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

In order to centralize information, Airtable is a fantastic tool. It’s much simpler to see everything in one place than in Excel. This is great since I can adapt it to my needs by choosing from a wide variety of data field kinds. It offers an appealing aesthetic and a straightforward interface. It can handle complicated tasks as easily as it can handle basic ones. The automations that help make so many efficiencies possible are fantastic.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Airtable lacks certain functionality that rivals services like Zapier and Make. Although I anticipate that these features will be added in the future, I find that the product now meets my needs in a large percentage. It's quite close but not quite there yet. While not perfect, it remains the simplest method for performing a wide range of operations on data.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You should consider using Airtable if you work in a specialized setting that outgrows the capabilities of traditional project tracking or collaboration applications. It's incredible to have the option of customizing a single source of data to meet the needs of each team member, whether those needs are aesthetic or functional in nature. Depending on your specific requirements, the setup process may take some time, but the end result will be well worth it.

Airtable for Tracking Tasks and Projects

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

One word: ease. Don't worry about being completely prepared. The tool guides you through the process after you have the fundamentals down and the motivation to apply it. Robotic Processes. My absolute favorite! The ability to auto-update information and the seamless connectivity with services like Slack are two of my favorite features. Communication and Interaction Since not everyone needs the same level of detail, I find it useful to have both high-level and granular dashboards at their disposal. It appears to be highly specialized software, but it's really simply another way of displaying the same information.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to link to several data sources and tables has been invaluable. The option to assign assignments based on our preferences has been very useful since it allows us to tailor our daily work to our unique needs. We tried a few more programs that automated work allocation more strictly, but they all required us to bend to their predetermined priorities. It's crucial to use forms since they provide deeper engagement with customers, such as letting them upload photographs for printing directly from my site.

What do you dislike most about this product?

If there is a way to make the database public or shareable, I would much appreciate it. One option is to use a form where the respondent may both change their response and submit it. That which I mean by this entire set of statements. When I have clients around, I'd want to have a link handy where they can go to check in on their progress and status. My clients, for instance, might provide updates on a weekly basis so that everyone could keep tabs on our collective success.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Airtable is a simple solution to many complex issues. Managing projects, customers, roadmaps, catalogs, employee schedules, new client onboarding, stock levels, etc. In my opinion, this is the greatest strategy for those who are just starting out and are trying to save costs. Its many practical applications justify the price. If you require really intricate answers, you'll have to keep looking until you discover what you're looking for.
