What differentiates Microsoft Project from other similar products?

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

To plan business projects where allocating resources and estimating costs are simple, Microsoft Project is a solid choice. As short-term planning and analysis are very simple to carry out, it is particularly applicable to six sigma/process improvement projects. Construction of refineries and power plants, both extremely complicated endeavors, are good candidates.

What do you dislike most about this product?

We have less leeway with more difficult jobs. This program is not EPC compliant. In Gantt, shading for percent complete is not available unless the user actively adds it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Fantastic for keeping tabs on the big picture, including tasks, deadlines, dependencies, etc. It's simple to make changes when you look to your predecessors. Although it can be utilized, the percent complete metric is often inaccurate when used to agile projects. Microsoft Project provides a simple interface and documents that can be modified quickly and easily. To create Gantt charts and identify bottlenecks, the tool gives useful visualizations.

What differentiates Microsoft Project from other similar products?

Microsoft Project provides my team and me with easy-to-navigate real-time chase of our worldwide ocean containers. Instead of keeping manual files or alternative long methods, we use Microsoft Project to watch our shipments for us automatically. We use the tool multiple times per day. Technology is prime of the line. When shipments track, they track well. There’s no doubt that they’re delivering on nice visibility (when it works).

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like that Microsoft Project offers the flexibility to own all of my shipment info in one place. I appreciate that they supply analytics as well so I can see however my shipments are tracking at a bigger scale. Microsoft Project can facilitate change our linehaul operation to realize higher visibility into the workload that we manage on a daily basis. The visibility to shipment is nice and real-time tracking without having to search all the carrier’ web site directly.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Their Support Center is very slow (months to resolve tickets). Additionally, a better partnership to fix broken ELD connections and aboard new carriers would be nice. It looks like we do most of the legwork to resolve problems with very little support and help from it. It might be nice to be able to ask for help and have them take care of it to full resolution, in a timely manner.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you’re having problems with your current provider of track and trace information, I extremely advocate that you simply look at Microsoft Project to fill your needs.

the differences are not many, but the program is very easy and has many features.

Microsoft Project simplifies project management by combining features such as individual task and activity reports, monitoring of time across all projects, and tracking of several projects at once.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The effectiveness of the product is highly dependent on the manner in which its operations are configured inside the platform. The beginning of this procedure might be challenging, but it will become much simpler after it is complete.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are looking for a solution that can be adapted to your specific requirements and that will assist you in effectively managing projects down to the tiniest of details, then you should look no further than Microsoft Project. I adore it; but, you should be prepared to go through a considerable amount of training in order to get familiar with the instrument.
