What differentiates Azure DevOps from other similar products?
The DevOps features such as builds and releases, continuous integration, continuous distribution, work item tracking. VSTS enables us to produce clean, accountable, managed software and source code, as well as keep track of our work. It enables us to automate testing and release processes and gives us the ability to move most of the manual work to the cloud using automated builds and releases.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Its really easy to set up basic build processes in Azure Devops. We were able to define build steps involving npm and gradle as well as custom logic to make the build compile in exactly the way we need. Using a hosted build agent, this can run builds in the cloud whenever we want, although there are limits imposed on total run time per month, after which builds stop running unless you pay for more build time.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Costly investment for an Organization Experience required for proper on-premise installation learning curve for developers is not ignorable at all
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Great Source Code Management Tool with everything needed in place. Intelligent merging tool, integrated with email. Very useful for Agile Development. Tracks well the Code Review Easily integrated with DevOps Tools. Very useful GUI
